Ceramic inkjet printers are like every precision device, but there is no precision device like ceramic inkjet printers. Because ‘it is a device that is even faster than speed’, ‘it does not stop’, ‘it operates tirelessly’, ‘but it requires regular maintenance’!
1、 Environmental requirements for inkjet printers:
The inkjet room must be kept sealed to the maximum extent possible, and doors and windows should be closed during equipment shutdown to prevent dust from entering and causing nozzle blockage, ensuring that the interior of the room is clean, dry, and the equipment is clean and running normally.
The inkjet room should keep the air conditioning on and necessary lighting to ensure that the indoor temperature is within the range of 20-25 degrees Celsius. In northern winter, the weather is cold and there is a huge temperature difference between day and night, so attention must be paid to temperature changes, otherwise it will cause the heater to work for a long time and ink to clump and solidify.
Maintain positive indoor air pressure to prevent dust from entering.
The equipment must be powered on 24 hours a day. If there is a problem with the external power supply, the power outage time should not exceed 5 minutes (UPS battery will run out). The accidental stop time of the ink supply system should not exceed 15 minutes, otherwise ink deposition may occur, which may block the inside of the nozzle or even damage the nozzle.
The equipment must be kept ventilated for 24 hours, otherwise it may not be able to clean automatically. If there is a gas outage, it needs to be repaired as soon as possible and relevant personnel should be arranged to eliminate the machine alarm. At the same time, ensure that the compressed air is clean and dry, and keep the air pressure above 6 kilograms at all times.
UPS must operate in a normal stable voltage state and cannot operate in a bypass state, otherwise it will lose its protective function.
It is necessary to promptly detect and eliminate alarms caused by various unstable factors, such as ink overflow. If the ink circulation system stops for a long time, it will directly cause irreparable gambling and damage to the nozzle.
Keep the inside and outside of the device clean, and try to keep there no ink residue on the device as much as possible,
Especially the cleaning of the surface of electrical components such as nozzles and boards.
2、 Shutdown maintenance
1. Remove any residual ink from the exhaust ducts on both sides of the nozzle and the large air duct at the bottom of the machine (with a valve at the tail).
2. Check the wear of the plastic suction nozzle on the cleaning tray and the ink residue deposited at the bottom of the tray.
3. Check the wear level of the green plastic baffle and rubber small guide wheel when entering the brick.
4. Check the wear level of the belt scraper
5. Check if the position of the belt guide is just touching the edge of the belt.
6. Check if all parts of the ink system are working properly.
1) Ink bucket mixer.
2) Ink tank heater, ink cartridge heater.
3) Ink supply pump, circulation pump, and deaeration pump.
4) Replace the filter in a timely manner.
7. Check for any abnormal noise from various motors, including belt motors, printing slot lifting motors, etc.
3、 Daily maintenance
1. Spray nozzle maintenance
1) Enable flash spray (check the yellow box area, the machine is in automatic mode, no images are loaded, and the nozzle and board are powered on). Suggest setting the flash duration to 0.5 seconds, with an interval of 60 minutes, and a frequency of 1000-2000 Hz (red box area, default setting). This feature will consume a small amount of ink.
2) Turn on the automatic cleaning nozzle for shutdown (green box area, red “cross” needs to be selected as green “check”). The recommended interval is between 120-240 minutes, depending on the cleanliness of the site and surrounding environment. This feature may consume a small amount of ink. 3) Print the status diagram continuously on the belt once a day in the morning and evening for 2-3 minutes, use the repeat printing function (in the menu bar: File – Repeat Line), and then print the status diagram on paper to check the status of each nozzle.
4) When a cable is pulled, handle it promptly. Method: Automatic cleaning, manual wiping, ink tube adjustment, ultrasonic cleaning.
5) During the shutdown period, it is also necessary to replace the filter in a timely manner.
2. Belt maintenance
1) It is necessary to promptly clean the ink and cleaning solution remaining on the belt.
2) Clean the powder and other oil stains on the belt to the maximum extent possible, and keep the surface of the belt clean.
3) Check whether the clamps and brackets on both sides of the belt have caused prolonged compression or wear on the belt, and adjust them in a timely manner.
4) If personnel are arranged to print on the belt every day, it is necessary to pay attention to changing the water used to clean the belt and adding an appropriate amount of belt cleaning solution. It is recommended to replace it every week, and the downtime can be extended to two weeks.
Check the status of the belt scraper and FLOW JET pump to ensure their ability to clean the belt.
3. Ink processing
1) Pay attention to the production date, shelf life, and storage method of ink. The shelf life of opened ink is less than 3 months. If the opened ink has not been used for a long time, it is recommended to dispose of it directly.
2) If the downtime is less than one month, the ink can be kept circulating inside the machine, and someone can be sent to check the remaining ink level every day (flash spraying and automatic cleaning both consume ink), to avoid the automatic stop of the circulation system caused by the empty ink tank, and to prevent the ink supply pump from burning out due to prolonged idling.
3) If the downtime exceeds one month, it is necessary to send someone to print on the belt every day, which can maintain the nozzle status and update the ink usage cycle (discard the old one and add new one). If the same batch of ink has been circulating continuously for more than 2 months, it is recommended to replace it directly.
4) If the downtime exceeds three months, it is recommended to empty all ink and add cleaning solution for circulation, while keeping the cleaning solution inside the ink circulation system. Please notify the equipment supplier in advance for appropriate technical support.
